Who We Are

The Adult Learning Center provides FREE Tutoring to adults 18+ in the Nashua area and surrounding towns including Merrimack, Hudson, Milford, and Amherst. Our students are refugees from over 60 different countries including the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and the Ukraine; and U.S.-born adults who weren't able to finish High School. They're all looking for a second chance! Tutoring can take place in person or online, either 1-on-1 or in small groups.

What We Do

VOLUNTEER TUTORS NEEDED! Do you want to make a significant difference in another person’s life? Do you have ONE hour available per week? The Nashua Adult Learning Center is seeking Volunteer Tutors who are at least 18 years old for students in our ESL (English as a Second Language) and ABE (Adult Basic Education) programs. You don't need any previous teaching experience, you don't need to have Einstein's IQ, and you don't need to speak any language other than English! We will provide all the training and materials you need. We can match you with a student who will fit your strengths, interests, and schedule. Tutoring can be done in person or online. Are you a patient, kind individual who can make a 6-month commitment to tutoring at least one hour per week? Contact MT Huard at (603) 716-7017, or email mhuard@nashuaalc.org. We’d love to connect you with a student who can benefit from your gifts!
