Volunteer: Join Nashua Center's Board of DirectorsAbout Our Board of Directors: As a member of the Board of Directors playing a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and viability of Nashua Center, you will provide sound governance, fiduciary oversight and strategic leadership. You will join other Directors in bringing diverse perspectives and expertise, a willingness to engage in initiatives to advance Board governance protocols and the Center’s evolution, and the sharing of your network communities in support of the Center’s development and fundraising needs. Committing to a 3-year term provides opportunity to become part of, and influence, the culture of the Board of Directors while simultaneously familiarizing yourself with the nuances of Nashua Center as it continues to evolve. This a volunteer, leadership role and all applicants understand that board members do not receive financial compensation for board service. Role & Responsibilities Governance: Serve as a steward of corporate governance and ethics upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Fiduciary Oversight: Ensure the financial health and sustainability of Nashua Center through sound financial management and oversight. Strategic Guidance: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic goals and objectives. Community: Represent Nashua Center in the community by communicating the vision, mission, values, goals, and success of the agency while leveraging knowledge of the Center’s programs and services. Development/Fundraising: Ensure awareness and understanding of Nashua Center’s fundraising needs and strategies and actively participate in fundraising activities while making an annual personal financial donation to the best of your ability. Compliance: Fulfill the legal duties of Loyalty, Care, and Obedience and comply with applicable laws, regulations, by-laws, and policies. Engagement: Arrive prepared and actively participate in board meetings, strategic planning sessions, committee assignments anticipating a ~4 hour commitment per month. Areas of Expertise Needed (but not limited to): Accounting Finance/auditing Legal/Attorneys Government Relations Commercial Real Estate Qualifications Commitment to Nashua Center’s mission. Willingness to commit to a three-year term of service, with a 4 hours of engagement per month (inclusive of in-person/virtual meetings and review of meeting preparation materials beforehand). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Desire to grow through exhibiting courage in asking questions and engaging in unfamiliar initiative content. Commitment to upholding the highest standards of board governance, ethics, and compliance. Prior nonprofit board experience is ideal, but not required.
