Join us for the second annual Reading United Day of Caring and help spark a love of reading in Nashua School District kindergarten and first-grade classrooms!
Volunteers will be assigned to one classroom for a 30-minute reading session on March 3, 4, or 5 during school hours (you choose the day and time that works best for you). You’ll read Gizmo’s Pawsome Guide to Mental Health, an age-appropriate book produced by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and help create a positive, engaging experience for young learners.
All materials will be provided, and volunteers should plan to arrive about 10 minutes early to get settled. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to make a meaningful impact in a short amount of time
Time commitment: ~40 minutes
Location: Nashua School District elementary schools
Impact: Promote literacy, emotional awareness, and a love of reading
When you respond, please make a note which day(s) and time(s) you would like to volunteer.
No prior teaching experience required — just a love of reading and working with kids!
