The Shoebox Project puts a spotlight on staying warm and reducing fuel costs. Help us build kits of essential items that help seniors prepare for the cold months ahead. Individuals and teams from schools, businesses, faith communities, and clubs are invited to help us pack kits on Monday, December 2.
Sign up for one (or all) of the following shifts:
1:00pm - 1:30pm: Help us transport donated items from the United Way offices to the Nashua Senior Center. 4 - 8 people with vehicles are needed for this.
1:30pm - 3:00pm: Help us sort donated items at Nashua Senior Center.
3:30pm - 6:30pm: Help package donate items into kits. Volunteers during this shift may also help agencies picking up completed kits load their vehicles.
Items will be distributed through our community partners: St. Joseph Community Services / Meals on Wheels, The Caregivers, Gateways, Nashua Senior Activity Center, and Southern NH Services.
More than 1300 seniors live at or below the poverty line in our community. During the cold winter months, many may be led to face the difficult choice between heat and having enough to eat. Help us provide seniors with information and resources to help reduce heating costs and stay warm, cozy and safe this winter.
