We are building a new urban farming site right in the heart of our community. These gardens will serve as a space where families without the space or means to have their own garden can have the opportunity to grow their own vegetables to consume at home with their family as well as build friendships in a community setting.
This first part of the project will be constructing the wooden beds that will be 4 ft X 12 ft X 2 ft and constructed out of spruce boards and posts for stability. A few sets of hands and some drill skills will be helpful. The second part of construction will be digging dirt and loading the beds with soil. The third phase will be installing a wicking rope system for water efficiency.
All ages are welcome for this fun way to serve our community!
