We are building a new urban farming site right in the heart of our community. These gardens will serve as a space where families without the space or means to have their own garden can have the opportunity to grow their own vegetables to consume at home with their family as well as build friendships in a community setting.
Target will be donating used cardboard boxes that are flattened and can be used as a layer to prevent weeds in the garden area, as well as to suppress grass in an area that will be mulched.
If you have a vehicle with space enough to move flatted cardboard boxes easily please let us know, as they'll have cardboard for us to pick up on Monday morning the 28th and we can use as much as reasonably fits within a pickup truck. The cardboard can then be dropped at the work site on the corner of Spring St. and Eldrige St.
