Volunteer: On-Call Group Childcare for Monthly Meeting

Nashua Family Network (NFN) is a parent-led group that meets monthly at Arlington Street Community Center). Parents are in one room, while children are supervised in another. Meetings are 5-7pm (dates vary). When our regular childcare volunteer cannot make it, we are unable to meet. We are seeking alternatives to be on-call. Volunteers must be fingerprinted (Arlington St., Community Center will help with the process).

Volunteer: Welcome Baby Ambassadors

Smart Start has launched the Welcome  Baby Campaign to build awareness of resources and knowledge of infant care for new and expectant parents.  Many agencies offer quality programes about parenting, infant care, healthy growth and development and economic supports like home visiting, diaper pantries, WIC and SNAP that can help them with thier new addition.  The welcome baby campaign includes our annual Community Baby Shower.  Welcome Baby Gift Bags distribued in each town at the clerks office or public library, post-partum support groups Welcome Baby Information kiosks.

 

We are looking for a team of 6 - 13 Welcome Baby Stewards that will manage the distribution of resource materials for the kiosks and back and deliver Welcome Baby Gift bags.  We envision 1 steward per town that will check at least once per month to replenish materials and keep watch the the kiosk remain in good condition and track the count of materials taken.
