Who We Are

At Friends of Aine, we want to create a world where no child grieves alone. Our volunteers work towards this mission by facilitating peer-to-peer, activity-based support groups. These services are open to grieving children, teens, and their adult caregivers. Our goal is to create a safe space for our grieving population to share their own personal experiences, explore topics related to grief, and learn coping strategies.

What We Do

Volunteer facilitators work together within the same room in groups of two. Each volunteer is prepared well in advance by our Program Director, who develops the curriculum for each 8-week series. The purpose of each week's support groups are to provide an activity revolving around grief. This serves as a platform for our children, teens and adults to share their experiences with their peers and build a sense of community.
