Grow Nashua provides community gardens throughout the city for families to grow fresh produce and connect with their neighbors. We currently support 7 different garden sites and 160+ plots.
We prioritize supporting low income families, so try to provide as many helpful resources as possible.
One of these is providing free seeds and seedlings to the gardening families.
Responsibilities:
Sorting and organizing seeds.
Bagging them up in ziplocks based on the time of the season that they will be used.
Driving the seedlings to the 7 sites throughout the city and placing them inside our Garden Huts.
Benefit:
Your help will allow families to grow food that they can use to feed their families. You'll also be setting them up for success, as the seeds and seedlings we place are coordinate with the right time of the spring/summer/fall to be most successful.
Skills:
Reading seed packaging.
Working with your hands.
Driving independently.
Duration:
Usually 1-2 hrs each time a need arises.
Time Frame:
This volunteer role happens on weekdays whenever is convenient for you between 9-5.
